hello again,
I tried to search the latest mentalist episode (5x11) but failed to find it , i tried a few other "high profile" tv shows recent episodes (tbbt, etc) and faced the same issue.
I know indexing takes time, etc (I've been reminded enough in my reddit post) but... taking a look at the "tv" tab in the "browse" page, I see a lot of hebrew/japanese or chinese and whatnot 0day or 1day shows with 0 DL.
So I guess my question would be something like, why is that, that tvshows that US/EU people most likely don't care about are already there and well known american shows still nowhere to be found ?
I guess it's because of the group, since most of the interesting shows seem to be posted to a.b.multimedia... I don't know It feels somewhat counter productive that the group with content that's most likely gonna be dcma'd quickly is indexed that slow when other groups with less interesting content are indexed almost in real time.

I tried to look up TV Shows from yesterday. Many are missing (just examples):
The Mentalist
Once Upon a Time
Revenge
Even older Episodes are missing.
Many other TV Show are also still missing or only have a few Episodes and/or Quality's in the Index.

Still that is only the repost of the The Mentalist. The Original Post was made 9 hours ago. Filename was changed in Original Post = 121989.* That is done with many shows now.
I personally find this "search sting must have a wildcard" very user unfriendly.

a.b.tvseries seems to fall over sometimes - we put a greater priority on a.b.teevee for that reason (hence The Mentalist S05E12 appearing on nzbX 4 minutes after it was posted in that group). I'm working on the issues that we're having with a.b.tvseries at the moment - but the bulk of groups are now rock solid.
We put a focus on relevance searching, people seem to be happy with it in the majority. The search engine is extremely powerful if used correctly.

Thanks for your answer, but could you please explain why searching for "mentalist" doesn't return the latest episode ?
I mean I have a degree in CS and should be able to understand that.. but from what i've always known, the less discriminant the search, the broader the results...

My Problem simply was: I read the How to Search, but didn't understand that the Wildcard was necessary, I thought is was optional to refine (limit) the search. The Example was a bit misleading for me, Sorry.

It's not mandatory. The majority of our downloads are not actually the latest episode of something. Hence, we use generic relevance weighting on searches.
Regardless of this, our search index is pretty damn huge, as a result; we only return {x} results from the index on a match (otherwise on some words, you'd be waiting forever for a response), at this point; we then order the results by age.
I'll think on this and get back to you within the next few days. However, based on our search metrics; the majority of people are more than comfortable using wildcard searches.

I'm not sure how sickbeard works but i'm using the version with nzbx integrated as search provider. Does it search with the wildcard on nzbx, in order to get those results ?

The person who wrote the original fork disappeared! It searches full episode strings as far as I am aware, I'll check.

Newest web dl Episodes of Victorious aren't listed on your index. Same Problem that all the Newznab sites have. At least the S04E10 should be on the index, since it was posted half a day ago.
