Hey all,
I was wondering if someone can explain to me how I would go about setting up nzbx.co with Sickbeard. I have it under my custom providers, but am not sure if I need an API key or where to obtain the proper one.
Can someone walk me through setting Sickbeard up so it uses nzbx.co as one of the providers when searching for nzbs?
Thanks a lot.

In sickbeard go to config and search providers. Nzbx should be checked. If you don't see a NZBX option then you are not running the correct version of Sickbeard. If the option is there just make sure it is checked. Sign in or an API is not required. ATM anyways. If you would like to you can drag NZBX to the top to make sure it is the primary provider.

Hmm, I believe I had to manually add Nzbx.co to the providers list. Does Sickbeard update itself? I installed Sickbeard about a few months ago. Under the 'Configure Custom Newznab Providers' section of Sickbeard, under 'Provider Name' I put Nzbx.co and under 'Site URL' I put https://nzbx.co/. I then have Nzb.co checked in the list, but I had to manually create it with the steps above in order for it to appear in the list.
EDIT: I did a version check from Sickbeard and it says that I don't need an update. It appears I am up to date.
Thanks.

Support for nzbx.co isn't in the master branch from Sickbeard. You'll need to install a forked version that adds support. Check here:

Perfect. All seems fine now. Snatching from nzbx.co.
I appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.

You might mention that your version requires Python 2.7 or below. 3.3 did not work.

This is quite difficult to do if you have the Windows version. If it even is possible.

Not even remotely difficult.

Yes it would be nice to have a way to add it to the list in the windows version. instead of having to install python and start from scratch...

I would like to add nzbx to the main version of sickbeard, is this possible or would i have to use the fork?

Use the fork hexdsl (at least until the pull is accepted and then wait for it to hit master), also the recent api was down recently but its now back working.

Are you guys getting this fork to work reliably on windows? Is it worth doing or should i just wait another week or so to see if the pull is accepted?

Hi LOTLSIN,
This was posted elsewhere on the forum but i wrote a guide a little while ago on getting Sb setup with nzbX capability. (This is using python and running from source).

If you really want to get up and running now, give it a shot. It's been a month since the pull request was accepted and its up to the SB guys when to add it. Hopefully it will be soon.

Cozza,
Very well written and comprehensive guide. I may just sit on things for a bit though and wait for SB to add nzbx. As i had mentioned in another thread, i just finished a week long test of a VPN service which went pretty well. Worked great for torrent downloads. Im toying with the idea of ditching my monthly usenet payment for the VPN service or maybe use both. We will see.
