Since the developers of Sickbeard don't seem to like us, here is a fix that should work!

First of all, this won't be a click and go solution. You will have to run Sickbeard from source with python in order to get nzbX to co-operate.

You will need to have python and cheetah.
Download and install python from http://www.python.org/getit
Download cheetah from http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/C/Cheetah/Cheetah-2.4.4.tar.gz and install with this guide: http://www.cheetahtemplate.org/docs/users_guide_html_multipage/gettingStarted.install.html

Now you will want to download Sickbeard from LemonadeDev's branch on github. LINK

Start up SickBeard by running SickBeard.py!

I applied this fix but I'm not sure what issue this is resolving. Is this fixing the "CP Server Thread-6 :: don't know what nzbx is, skipping" error I see thrown or something else?

People are reporting that without a fix to ibawt's branch, NZBs are not being added to sabnzbd+ properly. This allows you to actually use sickbeard with sabnzbd+!

actually. To escape the url properly you should do

+1 for jjaa's comment, if you dont correctly encode the name you pass to sickbeard you are going to have a bad time.

I'm using FreeNAS with the SickBeard plugin which does pull down the source. If anybody has any desire to know how to do this fix you can import just the changes ibawt made (you can even do this over SSH pretty easily).

Files needed to make it work:
./__init__.py
./providers/__init__.py
./providers/nzbx.py

Easy enough to make changes through an ssh terminal in the init files, then use `wget --no-check-certificate https://github.com/ibawt/SickBeard/raw/nzbx/sickbeard/providers/nzbx.py` to pull down the python file.

You'll need to make the changes stated above though. Was going to fork that but this is getting a little too meta to keep track of.

Ok, so I grabbed the 3 files mentioned above, stuck them in the directories, but I see no change in my sickbeard after stopping & starting it again.

In what way am I being stupid?

I am trying to incorporate this fix into my existing Sickbeard install, I don't want to reinstall my current installation. I've taken the "nzbx.py" file from the ibawts branch and put it into my installation, Ive changed the line thats described in here, but I still get errors. Is there anything else I need to do, some other change to another file?

If I just use ibawts branch and update the nzbx.py file, it doesn't complain about the above error but constantly can never find a file that I know is available on nzbx.co.

@tymanthius What OS are you running it on? If you pulled down those .py files directly as I did, you might have to make them executable. I don't think this would be an issue on Windows.

I'm using the LemonadeDev's branch and Sickbeard is adding nzb's to SABnzbd, but once the file is added it never actually starts. The status is always Trying to fetch NZB from http://nzbx.co/nzb?<release name>. Anyone else have this problem?

I am not sure if the windows executable for sickbeard has support for NZBx. You should be running sickbeard from the git source that Lemonade posted a few posts up. How do you launch Sickbeard right now? Not the browser way but I mean when Sickbeard is not running. That will tell me which Sickbeard you have installed.

I am currently running the PirateBay branch of Sickbeard. As I love the interface, I don't want to swap to Lemonade's version.

for those having issues using sickbeard with nzbx due in thanks to the developer markus101 and a request by a user he has integrated nzbx.co as a default indexer in NZBDrone all you have to do is tick enable in a box to get it running on NZBDrone

for those unfamiliar with nzbdrone it is a sickbeard alternative it is a windows only app as it is programmed in .net but a very nice piece of software

i may be a little biased as i am a forum mod and a constant pest to markus101 :)

with my requests and bug fix request but he is really quick and great about fixing or adding any feature possible

check it out if you use windows we are only a small community but everyone is friendly and willing to help if they can

btw if you ask on the forums he can make you a beta tester (assuming he needs more testers) so you can get the latest cutting edge version of the software he does several updates a week adding new stuff requested or improving features and feedback and requests are always welcome

I'm seeing the same thing as @Nakedgoat.

I manually modified the 2 __init__.py files and pulled the nzbx.py into ./sickbeard/providers/ and made them all executable. I still can't see nzbx as a built in provider. I even looked into generating config.ini again (to see if the info was added now) and no dice. Is there anything I'm missing?

I dont 100% know if the full jrdnull branch will work - I assume it will however that is not how I installed it.

I needed to test that the updated files would work with the main branch (https://github.com/midgetspy/Sick-Beard.git) and it was easier to just install the main branch and then update the required files.

jell0zz - I'd recommend a fresh install of Sickbeard alpha master, and then copy just the updates files over the top. Your existing install may be different from the alpha master or have something different, Eg. anime fork.

Thought I'd give this a try tonight but having some odd results. Running OpenIndiana and the alpha master of Sickbeard and just pulled jrdnull's updated files over. I am seeing 'nzbX' in the 'Provider Priorities' list however it is absent from the built in providers configuration list therefore no way to configure and actually provide my nzbX api...

Checked my logs for sickbeard and I'm seeing the following error:

EDIT: I just read in another thread that sign in or api isn't required at the moment. As long as you've got nzbX checked in your provider priorities list it should work.

There is however problem finding some episodes. For example I successfully found The Big Bang Theory S06E15 but it cant find House of Cards S01E03 (HD).

Just to test I disabled all other search providers except nxbx and ran the same search as papranec and appear to be getting the exact same errors in my log.

EDIT: For clarification, I'm seeing the same errors in my log as papranec when it attempted to search for house of cards - my setup also failed to find big bang theory episodes as well though. Both can be found by manually searching the site.
