Hi,
Thanks for this great usenet indexer/searcher. I really love the simplicity of this site, so keep up the good work, and let me know if you need a developers hand!
I do however find all the notifications on top of each page a bit annoying. I do not want to read them all the time - I've already done that.
On the front page there's the donation and nuPlay notifications/ads. While I can understand the necessecity of these, could you make them less intrusive? Maybe move them to a small right margin, or to the site header (less intrusive, i.e. colourful). Or simply just let us be able to close them when we have read them so they won't appear on next visit (maybe not so great in the case of ads).
Also, when you're searching, you get the annoying notification "Wait! Not found what you were expecting?". Existing users know that when they have been here awhile. Again make this closeable, or simply create a "Help" link under the search field next to the "Advanced Options".
Just my thoughts. Nothing groundbreaking, but the devil is in the detail ;-)

If it's a major problem you can always bookmark the browse page over the homepage. I like the way it is purely because I read them each time to check for updates, but I agree that they should be kept minimal, although the colour scheme (at least for me) is already muted enough to not be too "in your face."
